This is my Akita . I call him 'Shiro', but his real name is 'Omoshiroi' (in japanese it means 'strange, untypical';).

Akita (or Akita Inu) is a breed of large dog originating in Japan, in Akita Prefecture. In japanese 'Inu' means 'dog'. In the past Akita was the dog of the samurai.

It is an animal, which an appearance of a dog, a character of a cat and the strength of a bear.

The most famous Akita is Hachiko. His fame came from his loyalty. When his owner died, Hachiko returned to the train station every day for the rest of his life to wait for him. A life-size statue of Hachiko still stands at Shibuya Station.

Akitas are in Japan the symbol of the happiness.

Oh, thank you so much :) it is Akita Inu. It is from primitive types. he has a japanese temperament . his name is Omoshiroi :D

No, once a year. They don't have too long fur, but it is thick :)

Well, that's nice then. My dog is a German Shepherd/Norwegian Elkhound mixed breed and he sheds year round. ^^;
